Ever wonder why you keep dreaming about that someone? Or simply just anyone in particular? Well I’ve always dreamt of friends and family members from time to time and every time I do, I make a point to get in touch with them and ask how they were doing and if everything was OK. Why do I do that? That’s cause I think my subconscious is telling me that I need to get in touch with that person to check out on him or her. Why do I think so? I really don’t know. But at least I take the effort to reach out them and to people whom I haven’t been keeping in touch with for some time, and would like to get updates from them. If memory serves me right, there was once or twice when I’ve dreamt of a friend and did what I normally do after I wake from the dream, that is to get in touch with them, only to find out that they have been in an accident or fell ill. From then onwards, I’ve always make a point to text, message or call the person whenever they appear in my dreams just to be sure that everything is fine.
Recently I’ve befriended a new friend online and only a few days old of friendship and I was thinking about how she was doing. So I decided to find out, as this is new to me, as to why, so quickly I’ve already dreamt of this new friend of mine. And here’s a dream interpretation that I found online to answer my question and perhaps even make a better argument than my “subconscious is telling me that I need to get in touch with that person”.
To know, what does it mean when you dream about someone, we can make use of several theories for interpreting it. If it is someone you know, the most probable and common theory would be that you have been thinking about that person way too much. Specially, when you dream about someone, it is very likely that you were thinking about that person when you feel asleep. This creates an imprint of your thought on your subconscious mind, which gets reflected in your dreams. But, going by theory, when you dream about someone, it has more to do with certain aspects like their personality, or the relationship you shared with them, rather than the person itself. These people may appear as representatives of their qualities which you wish to inculcate, or else you already possess but are unaware of. If you are under a lot of stress, you might dream of a person who has been the cause of stress in your past, or someone who has led a very stressful life themselves. Whereas, seeing a favourite person or a peaceful personality denotes the peace and calm in your life right now.
With that, the above definition kinda works for me. But that doesn’t and definitely won’t stop me from thinking that my subconscious is telling me I should get in touch with that person.
